The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union has released a notification inviting online applications from eligible Indian nationals for recruitment to the post of Navik (General Duty).
Candidates meeting the educational, age and other eligibility criteria can apply for this post. The application process will start from 20 January 2019 and close on 31 January 2019.

Age Criteria And Fee
Candidates interested in applying for the post of Navik (General Duty) through the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment must have attained 18 years of age and not exceeded 22 years, i.e., between 01 August 1997 and 31 July 1997. Further, a relaxation (upper age limit) of 5 years is granted for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC categories.
Candidates are not required to pay any fee towards the processing of the application or towards the examination.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the post of Navik (GD) must have qualified in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Maths from an education Board/Institution recognised by the Central/State government with at least 50% marks in aggregate. However, a relaxation of 5% in the minimum cut off marks will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and to those candidates with an outstanding record in sports either at the national level or interstate level championships.
Selection And Pay Scale
The selection of candidates to the post of Navik (General Duty) through the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment will be done based on written tests to be conducted in the month of March-April 2019.
The examination will be of objective nature comprising subjects/papers - Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, English (12 grade), General Knowledge and Currents Affairs.
Those qualifying in the written test will have to pass the Physical Fitness Test and meet the medical standards set by the selection board.
Candidates selected for Navik (General Duty) will be paid under Level 3 of the Indian Coast Guard in the scale of Rs. 27,700/ per month.
